15-Mile Thames Path: Richmond → Victoria

Join Us to Support The Alzheimer’s Society
Why Walk with Us?
Vulnerability Week ends on a high note by coming together for a cause that truly matters—supporting dementia. Walking 15 miles along the scenic River Thames gives you the chance to:
-
Forge lifelong connections. Nothing bonds quite like sharing stories and laughter over riverside pubs after 15 miles of fresh air.
-
Support each other, both professionally and personally—problem-solve, share insights and simply enjoy a day out of the office.
-
Enjoy one of London’s most iconic routes, with gentle gradients and plenty of beautiful stopping points along the way.

Tailoring: Crafting a Journey Made for You
Trust isn’t built by offering one-size-fits-all solutions; it grows when we tailor every interaction to real human needs. Just as our services adapt—through inclusive design, continuous feedback and personal choice—this walk has been shaped with you in mind:
-
An Accessible Route Along the Thames Path, you’ll find gentle gradients, paved towpaths and regular rest stops, so every pace and ability is catered for.
-
Fundraising Target We ask each walker to aim for £200—enough to fund ten hours of one-to-one support or five home visits from a Dementia Adviser through Alzheimer’s Society.
-
Meaningful Moments At each riverside café or pub, you’ll have space to reflect on how tailoring makes a difference—in life, in service and for those living with dementia.
By walking this carefully crafted route together, we put “Tailoring” into action—demonstrating that when we design for individual needs, trust truly flourishes.
Step into Their Shoes… and Ours

Last year’s country-walk for Demelza around Rochester taught us two key lessons:
-
Accessibility matters. Some members found it hard to reach the start, and uneven, muddy trails made progress tricky.
-
A proper pause revitalises. Whether you enjoy a hot drink, a light snack or simply a moment to stretch and take in the view, everyone benefits from a comfortable rest.
That’s why we’ve chosen the Thames Path this year: it offers straightforward tube access, mostly flat, riverside towpaths and plenty of cafés, benches and rest-points to help you recharge—whenever you need to.
Walk for Alzheimer’s Society
We’re walking to raise £8,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society—our chosen charity for 2025. Alzheimer’s Society exists to ensure that life doesn’t end when dementia begins; “we do everything we can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.” Alzheimer's Society
